Happy Saturday, Everyone!
I hope your week was fantastic and productive!
Here’s a peek into my week, complete with its highs and lows, as I navigate the journey of building my business.
Monday started off as a marathon. I was glued to my desk from 7 AM to 6 PM. Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to make any progress on my business. By the end of the day, I was utterly exhausted and felt like I’d hit a wall.
However, Tuesday brought a refreshing burst of motivation. I attended a pro coaching call with Dean, and he shared a crucial tip that completely shifted my perspective: “Work in 30-day sprints.” This concept is all about focusing your efforts each month to make consistent progress. Dean emphasized the importance of scheduling our business tasks wisely. With only 24 hours in a day, it’s vital to avoid being a “busy fool,” as he called it, and ensure that our efforts are directed toward the right tasks. This approach helps us avoid wasting time and resources on things that don’t move the needle.
He stressed that our time management needs to be strategic—planning out the next 30 days with a clear focus. He encouraged us to master one skill at a time, such as driving traffic. The key is to stay disciplined and focused, honing in on our traffic generation strategy daily and tracking our metrics with precision.
He also reminded us that although we might not be good at something right now, utilizing a strategy like this not only helps us get focused and know what to work on, but it ultimately leads to becoming good at something. I mean, if you dedicate an hour a day to something for 30 consecutive days, you are going to learn a ton!
Wednesday was a day of mixed results. I got up early and dived into work but faced a few technical hiccups with both my WordPress blog setup and my email sending setup in ClickFunnel – yes, I am still trying to get everything back up and running in ClickFunnels.
Thursday began with a bit of a late start, sleeping in till 7AM, working from home, and diving into some special training sessions at work. I got off early and was ready to dive into my affiliate business. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive the additional feedback I was hoping for on my emails, which was a bit frustrating. I’m eager to get those final tweaks in place so I can get my Facebook lead ad back up and running. With only five months left in the year, there’s no time to lose!
So I continued to work on the tech issues, and spent a few hours online with technical support for SMTP.com trying to get me emails to send after someone joins my list in ClickFunnels and for some reason my WordPress custom domain was not working. I was told by customer service to wait the 24-48 hours after adding the DNS records for it to be up and running. So wait I must.
Friday brought some exciting progress. My WordPress blog was finally operational!
Here is a quick video to show you the steps to take if you want to create your very own.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have the same success with SMTP.com and ClickFunnels, and it looks like SMTP is saying I need to get help from ClickFunnels, as they have done all they can.
This is tricky because ClickFunnels, unlike Affiliate System, NameCheap, Domaine.com and SMTP.com, does not have a chat feature where you can speak to a live agent and get help. Instead, it is a frustrating back-and-forth of emails that make you want to throw your computer into pieces, but I am hanging in there, hoping to get this resolved.
I made them a loom video and hoping they can help me. 🙏
After getting off with customer service I decided to sit down and write my week in review for this blog post, and set up my broadcast email.
That leads us to today, Saturday. Today is set to be productive as well! I have a one-on-one session with Sophie to finalize my emails and ads. I’m hopeful that these adjustments will help my Facebook Lead Ad campaign start to convert leads into customers in the final stretch of the year.
Staying committed and consistent can be incredibly challenging. Technical roadblocks are no joke, and after working a 12-hour day, it is so hard to be patient, take a deep breath, and do your best to work through the issues, but I am.
I really appreciate the platforms that have good customer service as it really makes all the difference.
Looking ahead, I’m working on refining my plan and strategies, sitting down and planning those 30-day sprints. From daily social media posts to creating engaging YouTube videos and refining my sales system, there’s a lot on my plate. But with each step, I’m gaining more clarity and moving closer to my goals. Affiliate Systems has some really cool features to help plan ahead, especially for social media!
Thanks for following along on this journey!
I’ll keep sharing updates and insights as I navigate the world of affiliate marketing so we can ride from rookie to riches together!
Here’s to making progress, learning from our experiences, and staying motivated.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Wow, what a week you had! I totally feel you on the Monday grind—those long days at the desk can be so draining. But it’s awesome to see how things turned around on Tuesday. The 30-day sprint idea sounds like a game-changer for staying focused and making real progress. I may have to give that a go!
I love your determination and how you’re planning ahead with those 30-day sprints. It’s inspiring to see how you’re balancing everything and staying positive. Keep pushing forward, and I’m excited to see and follow your journey.
I’m exhausted just reading about how busy you are. What a week you’ve had, I seriously don’t know how you do it. You are so inspiring and if you don’t succeed at this business I will eat my hat. Yes, those interactions with the help desk are very frustrating. It’s a pity you can’t go all in with the Affiliate System. I really enjoy reading how you’re doing and can’t wait for the next episode.
Hi Alison,
Your focus on 30-day sprints reflects a practical approach to managing time effectively. It’s encouraging to see your persistence in overcoming technical issues. Your willingness to share both the difficulties and achievements of your week is appreciated. Looking forward to hearing more about how your strategies develop and succeed! Thank you for the description of how to set up WordPress.
Best of luck with the upcoming week!

Alison, Thanks for sharing your week with us. That’s one of the problems when you try to put software together each side will point to the other side as the problem. With Affiliate Systems a lot of that won’t happen as it is all under one core platform. Good luck with clickfunnels and stay positive!

Using the 30-day sprint is a great time management tool. It gave you the lift you needed so that’s great. It’s also very helpful to strategize and prioritize your tasks! So awesome!!

HI Alison – As usual, I am in awe of how much you are able to accomplish during the week with as much as you have going on in your busy personal and professional life. You’re an inspiration point Dean’s advice of the 30-day Sprint is a good one. I’d like to hear more about it from him and I think I might ask. Thanks for the quick and easy to follow video. If I venture out into an additional niche this will be helpful for me down the road. Until we chat again on the blogs or other, I hope you have a wonderful unproductive week!
I can totally relate to the marathon Monday and the feeling of hitting a wall—sometimes those days just happen despite our best efforts. But it’s fantastic to hear that Tuesday brought a fresh wave of motivation and some valuable advice from Dean. The concept of 30-day sprints sounds like an effective way to stay focused and make consistent progress. I appreciate the emphasis on strategic time management and mastering one skill at a time. I’m definitely going to incorporate that into my own workflow. All the Best.
