Happy Saturday,
Can you believe it is week 15? I cannot.
It has been quite a journey.
For the past few weeks, we have been talking all about traffic, and there are so many methods to choose from that it can seem overwhelming.
Originally, I chose Facebook/Instagram, so I created a Facebook and Instagram page and a Facebook group and have been posting pretty consistently. My followers and views are quite low, and these channels have never really taken off for me. But I continue to post daily.
I added TikTok to the mix because of the amazing potential this platform has. Lately, from what I have been learning bout the TikTok algorithm, you need to post a minimum of once a day, and the platform seems to want 3-5 posts daily and now encourages going live for 30+ minutes; this is not feasible for me. Posting once a day is doable, but more than once a day is not something that I can commit to and be consistent with.
I think it is important, to be honest with yourself.
And if I am honest with myself, constantly being on social media is not me. I work really hard to have a positive mindset and be present in the moment when I am with people. I don’t want to think, oh, I should record this. It would make a great post.
I also don’t enjoy scrolling, watching other feeds, and commenting.
I want to live my life; being in the present moment takes a lot of work for me. Usually, I am in my head thinking about what I should be doing or what I did wrong that can be improved on.
Also, I live in a studio apartment with my boyfriend. So if he is home it is impossible to record. I am always being interrupted and I feel horrible, he is sneaking around trying not to make noise. Let’s just say I haven’t figured out social media, and it feels so unnatural to me, I hope I find my rhythm.
I grew up where you never let anyone know your business, and talking to people about how I just got a bill from the doctor and wish I had the money to pay for it, is quite embarrassing. But I know there are thousands of people out there going through the same thing, so I do it because I want a better life, and I want to help others have a better life, too.
What I have learned about my social media adventures is that I really enjoy doing tutorials and sharing with others what I have learned. But these take time and a lot of editing.
Also, I think I am doing too much. It is not just about content creation it is about learning the algorithm of a platform and using the algorithm to grow.
There is not enough time in the day to learn Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Youtube algorithm and master them.
That is why dedicating yourself to learning one platform and its algorithm and growing that platform is needed.
So, it’s time to get real with myself.
YouTube is my primary platform for organic traffic, and I this blog because I know I can post once weekly and commit to that. I will spend the next weeks reading and learning the YouTube algorithm and spend my focus there.
I will continue to post on social media, but I will only post once daily and not spend time studying the algorithm.
This week’s lesson introduced Facebook Lead Ads, a very viable paid traffic method.
When I joined the Internet Profit Accelerator Program last July I chose Facebook Lead Ads as my primary traffic method, and I got pretty comfortable with them.
From July 14 to early November, I was chugging along; I was collecting leads and actually making around 300 dollars in commissions.
However, due to some SMTP issues, my email follow-up stopped sending, and Sengrid, the company I was using, had no customer support, so I got stuck. Then Dean announced the new Affiliate Systems Platfrom, and I decided to stop everything and restart with this new platform.
I am so glad I did.
Now, everything is coming full circle with the reintroduction of Facebook Lead Ads.
It’s been a while since I have run ads, and I am a little rusty, but I wanted to share this video I did back in September to share the process of how to set up a Facebook Lead Ad so you can set one up effortlessly if this is a path you choose to go.
Click here to watch me set up a Facebook Lead Ad!
I will be starting to implement Facebook Lead Ads in the very near future.
Before I can go down this road, there are a few things I need to do first.
If you are considering adding paid traffic ads I want to go over all the pros and cons of Facebook lead ads to see if they are right for you.
So here is what I have learned about Facebook Lead ads:
One of the coolest features of Facebook Lead ads is that the person never has to leave Facebook. Facebook inputs their information into the form for them. When collecting leads it is important to have the lead do as little a possible and to offer an incredible lead magnet that solves a pain point for them.
Facebook also rewards you as an advertiser using these ads by charging less per click and lead because the lead stays on Facebook the entire time. Sounds like a win-win to me! Less work for the lead and less cost for us!
An extra bonus with the Affiliate System platform is that your Facebook can be integrated, so leads automatically get captured right to your email list, unlike other platforms where you need to use third-party systems like Maker and Zapier to connect the leads to your email list. This is really important because you cannot do this manually. You want the lead to opt in and immediately get their free gift. So, having something in place to add the lead to your email list and immediately send them the lead magnet is very important.
Another really important thing to take into account is that these leads don’t really know you that well; they are cold leads, so getting them on your list in exchange for a lead magnet is the first step, but it does not end here.
It is more important than ever to send emails to these leads, and follow-up is vital.
For a lead ad to work, you have to:
1. Have an image or video that grabs attention
2. Have a good lead magnet – something people really need that solves a pain point. This will not only entice them to exchange their email address for this gift but will build trust.
3. Be clear with your messaging, what you are giving them and how will it help them
4. Be clear in the form that people need to go and check their email to ge the freebie – you need people to open that email – this is more important than ever with the new email list rules
5. Follow-up is key. Send emails regularly and have good content and subject lines
6. Only spend what you can afford to lose
7. Monitor your numbers to see what is working. You will need to look at the ad statistics in Facebook and your email statistics. Check emails to see if people are opening them. This will help you identify if the ad is targeting the right people.
8. Test your ad for a minimum of 7 days before making changes
9. Only change one thing at a time
In the upcoming weeks, I will show you how to create a lead magnet. Subscribe to my YouTube channel, and I will walk you through the entire process, including how to create a cover for your PDF/book, etc., if this is the type of lead magnet you decide, and how to create cool mock-ups for your ads.
I will be setting up some Facebook lead ad campaigns to test out and will be sharing the results with you, showing you how to look at the data and how to make decisions about your ads.
If you want to stay up to date and not miss a thing, including which lead ads do the best, how to track your ads, and how to decipher the data, then join my newsletter. This will be a process that will take several weeks, so make sure you sign up to prevent missing a thing!
Are you excited about this paid traffic method: Facebook lead ads? If so don’t forget to comment below. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Let’s ride from rookie to riches together.
To our success,
Alison Blaire

It is exciting to see you branching out and, in this case, going back to your roots. I, and others, truly find value in your videos. I now look forward to your lead add campaign on YouTube. Did you create a new FB account/page or tie it to your personal account? If you stayed with your personal account, how did you separate he two? Thanks, and best wishes!

Thank you so much, Ernie. I did create a new FB page, not a new account, just a new page. If you click on your profile pic there is a drop-down, on the bottom there will be a + button that says Create. This will allow you to create a new page. I wanted to keep my affiliate marketing tips and tricks and content separate from my already established FB and Instagram pages because of friends and family. There are some things to be aware of with this, when you create an additional page and it’s not the main account, you might not be able to join some groups, but feel for me it was important to keep business and personal separate.
This was a great introduction to FB Lead ads. I loved the video of your boy friend sneaking through the room. One time I was doing a You Tube interview years ago when my husband literally streaked through the room (in the nude). We all had a good laugh about that!!
That is hilarious, such a great story!!!
Hi Alison,
Great post! It sounds like your working through to determine what works best for you and on your way! I also have to come to terms with what traffic source I wasn’t to focus on primarily. As you mentioned, it’s overwhelming trying to use so many traffic sources at once. Here’s to figuring it all out and moving onward and forward the best way!

Denny, what is great is nothing is permanent. If you pick a strategy, do the research, and then find it is not for you, it is okay to pivot. Being flexible, trying things and figuring out what works for you is all part of the journey. The most important thing is to just start, dive in, and start learning and doing!
This is a brilliant blog. Thank you so much Alison. I’ve not even started to think about Facebook ads, it has been added to the ‘to do’ list and when I get there I will use your blog to help me!
This is a blog that will be bookmarked!
Putting yourself out there is never easy, I’ve found it difficult. I’m very introverted so even thinking of something to say is really hard for me. Out of comfort zones bring things…. Hopefully!
It will Sarah, every time you do something that makes you feel uncomfortable and break out of that comfort zone, you grow as a person, and prove to yourself that you can do anything. I believe in you, all is coming!!!!
Hi, Alison!
I’m excited to see your tutorials regarding Facebook ads. I hadn’t really considered the possibility of doing paid advertising until recently. I didn’t realize you could base an entire paid advertising strategy on just five dollars a day. That’s pretty exciting!
I’m excited to be learning from you!

Nakina, thank you so much! It is pretty remarkable that there is a paid traffic strategy that can actually generate results with just $5.00 a day. We are so lucky to have all the opportunities that we have right now online! Time to take advantage of this, seize the day and learn all we can.
Yes, Nakina. It is pretty remarkable that Facebook Lead Ads can be done for just $5/day. It makes paid traffic incredibly accessible on a small budget. It is really exciting and I am so glad you are coming along for the ride!
Fantastic blog post—you are doing great! Sometimes, it can be difficult to want to do things that everyone else is doing, and the end result is that you are not even living life in person. You end up being a product of social media and immersing yourself in a lifestyle that you never really wanted to be a part of. You can only do so much at any given time, but there has to be a balance between reality and technology. Keep up the excellent work, and stay true to yourself. In the long run, you will succeed in your own time and in your way.

Hi Alison,
I can totally relate to how you feel about putting your every moment out on social media. I’m a very private person too, and I like to keep to myself for the most part. This has been hard for me as well, but like Dean says, we have to get out of our comfort zone to make things happen for us sometimes. You will find your way. I’m confident you will do that! I looking forward to seeing more on your Facebook ads with your next post. Keep doing what your doing and it will happen for you… Thanks! 😊

Meredith, thanks for the encouragement. I am consistently doing it despite the little voice in my head criticizing me along the way. I am grateful for the support of the group, and I plan to listen to Dean. He says do it, so I am, because he strongly believes in his plan, and I am going to put in the work to make my dream life a reality.
Paid traffic with Meta’s Lead Ads is a great way to start building an audience base. I hear ya about not having enough time in the day dealing with the social media platforms but I will need to pick one main organic traffic platform for when the ad money dries up lol. I’ll be watching to see how you come along with your Meta Lead Ad campaigns.

Yes, please do; let me test everything out so that you can save some money and time! I am happy to be the guinea pig!!
Hi Alison,
I am glad to have read your post as sometimes you think you are the only one.
I am rethinking how much I can learn TikTok and post 3 times a day.
Like you, I am also interested in YouTube and FB leads.
It looks like a marketing strategy is needed to determine what I need to do and how much I can do genuinely.
I am happy to take my time as I am also aware that organic traffic is best and will need to work out
cost and time.

A marketing strategy is a great idea. Sitting down and doing a little homework researching each platform, understanding the expectations of what you will need to do as a content creator, and the results will help you make decisions that align with your business goals and your time commitments. Taking your time is a great way to ensure you have done your due diligence and make decisions you can commit to!
Allison,
I’ve made the call to go all-in with YouTube as my main social media hub. While I’m not diving into FB Lead ads just yet, your insights here are super valuable, and I’ll definitely circle back to this blog when the time’s right. Totally onboard with your point about the effort needed for content creation – I’m constantly brainstorming new ideas throughout the day for short videos. My aim? At least one post every day.

Sherri, that is great. One post a day on YouTube is a big goal but a great one! YouTube is an incredible platform, and the more I learn about it, the more committed I am to making it my primary platform.
Alison, thanks for yet another amazing blog. There’s one particular part I want to focus on and that’s the video on how to set up a Facebook lead ad. I watched the whole thing end to end and I learnt so much. The way you explain things, the tone of your voice and the fact that it’s not edited and it’s all real it’s very appealing. You made it look very doable as it something that I hope to do soon. You’re becoming an expert in YouTube and also your specialism seems to be teaching people how to do something. The fact that it’s not edited and it’s all real it’s very appealing. This is a very valuable skill to have and you’re very very good at it. Thank you so much for teaching me and I look forward to many many more lessons. Well done fantastic post thanks, Atif

Thank you so much, Atif. It was not my first time running an ad. Practice does make perfect. After running many ads, I felt comfortable recording myself doing it, and Facebook Lead Ads are really beginner-friendly; you can set one up in less than 30 minutes if you have all your media ready to go! I always wanted to be a teacher when I was younger, so now is my time to reinvent myself!
Alison,
I really appreciate your honesty and openness about your social media journey. It defiantly is something that for me is a struggle.
So, I find it relatable to hear about the struggles you are having in finding a balance between authenticity and the demands of online platforms. Your decision to prioritize YouTube and reevaluate your approach to Facebook Lead Ads shows a lot of self-awareness and determination. It’s great to see you carving out your space one step at a time in the social media world.
I also appreciate you sharing the ups and downs of your journey. I am learning from each post you put up. Keep being true to yourself, and consistent.
You got this and I’m glad to be on this journey with you.
