Rookie to Riches Roadmap: Second Stop – Sowing the Seeds of Success with Your Unstoppable ‘Why’

I’m Alison Blaire, and I’m thrilled to have you here with me as I embark on my journey from Rookie to Riches.

In my first post I talked a lot about what motivates me to dedicate this year to my affiliate marketing business.

I am more excited than ever after getting off the Zoom session with Dean and his mentor Alex Jeffreys today.

I have to say I am feeling so pumped and ready to take on this year with unwavering commitment.

And the consistent theme of success is JUST DO IT

It seems ridiculous simple, right, if you want to be successful, just follow the proven plan, and actually put in that hour + a day.

But, often times if we don’t have anyone holding us accountable, we make excuses instead of taking action.

It’s the beginning of a new year and everyone is pumped on making changes, but a few months from now, everyone is back to old habits.

So how do we avoid this trap?

How do we keep the motivation going, weeks and months after the excitement of the new year starts to wane.

Being a part of a community and having a mentor who holds you accountable, and this blog where I am hoping you will hold me accountable are two of my solutions to this problem.

When Dean gives us our weekly homework assignments, I do it, and I post on the community Facebook page for accountability, but let’s be honest, it’s easy to not do it and go quite, not show up to the mentor sessions, weekly calls, results reviews, stop posting in my Facebook group, it really comes down to me.

I am the only one that can change my life and that is why I am saying it out loud – I am committed 100% to putting in the work, and I want you to hold me accountable, and I am happy to do the same for you!

Alex said during the Zoom session today, that the reason he was so successful was not that he wanted wealth or money. He wanted to stop being broke and struggling.

He asked, “What are you driven away from?”

He suggested that we find somebody outside of ourselves that is our motivation, and this is exactly what Dean has us do, he has us find and define our WHY.

I wouldn’t jump in front of a car to save myself, but I would jump in front of a car to save my soulmate or cats if they were in danger.

So find that WHY so that you have unwavering dedication and consistently show up every day and put in the work.

Why am I spending all my FREE time and savings on following Dean’s proven plan?

My WHY is financial freedom.

I want to live where I want, travel, have a family, and be able to provide for them. I don’t want to have to worry all the time about how to afford to pay the bills, or having enough money for groceries.

Dean had us do two exercises, which are also included in his book The Iceberg Effect and I want you to do them to.

They may seem silly at first, but they are important.

He makes us define our why then he gets us to really break it down,  writing down all the details of the life we are working so hard for, so we understand what our dream life costs, and knowing the numbers helps us to understand our goals.

Exercise 1. Finding your Why

Dean asks a series of why questions to help us discover the core reason behind our motivation for breaking out of the box and starting an affiliate marketing business. He starts off by asking, “ Why do you want an internet business?” Then he continues to ask Why? In order to peel back the layers until you are left with your core reason. The reason that is going to get you up in the morning and have the discipline to be consistent even when things get hard.

Exercise 2: Life By Design

The second exercise =life by design. Where Dean has us describe our dream life in such detail. Where do you want to live? What does your home look like? What kind of car do you drive? What are your monthly food costs? How many vacations would you like to take each year? Will you be flying coach? Business? First Class? What types of fun things do you want to partake in? How many dates do you want to go on each week, clothing budget, pamper days, etc.? Then he has us write it all down and total them up to find out what this dream life would cost. Once you know how much you need each year, each month, and each day, you have a total income goal in mind. If you need 10,000/month for your dream life, this means that you need to make $357.14 per day.

These exercises do two things: (1) It solidifies your WHY and gives you that thing to motivate you when things don’t go your way, and your growth mindset might need a pick me up or a redirect. (2) It allows you to create small steps and smaller goals to reach your bigger goal of 357.14 per day.

There is strength in defining your why and your numbers and sharing them.

So now it is your turn to define your WHY and to create your life by design. How much money do you need to generate to reach your dream life? Don’t forget to share it below in the comments! What is your motivation, the core reason you put in the effort to make money online, to create a better life?

Don’t make 2024 another year of excuses, let’s make this a year of getting shit done!

Are you ready to make your dreams a reality?

Then comments below: I am read! I am committed!

If you are dedicated to giving it your all, with no excuses, then I want to see I am committed below in the chat box!

Remember, no matter how hard things are going in your life, how helpless and frustrated you feel, and how far your dream life seems from reality, let your WHY be the motivator that gives you the discipline to take one small step forward every day.

I want to leave you with this video, where Dean says it best:

Small steps add up over time. You watch!

  1. Alison, Discovering your true “WHY” was a huge part of my drive to Succeed. My “WHY” is my Granddaughter that was born with Spina Bifida. Just seeing her determination on a daily basis is enough to make any of my excuses seem so small that they don’t matter. I would have never dreamed that one book would have made that big of an impact on starting a business. My only regret is that I didn’t find it sooner! In my opinion, “The Iceberg Effect” is a must read book in starting any Affiliate Marketing Business. Here is to Dreams Discovered! 🥂

    1. Thank you so much Andy! Look forward to sharing everything I learn and helping anyone and everyone that can benefit!
