Happy Saturday🌟
Ever heard of the “beginner’s advantage”? It might sound counterintuitive, but being new to affiliate marketing can actually be a big plus. Intrigued?
When I first dipped my toes into affiliate marketing, my main focus was making money. I needed that extra cash and was eager to find something that could help. I’ll admit it—if someone promised easy money, I was all in. I tried a bunch of different things: starting a yoga retreat business, teaming up with a friend on a cannabis product line mixed with tantric practices… you name it.
But then, I stumbled upon Dean Holland’s IPA program. I was lucky enough to get a call with Dean himself. It was eye-opening! Dean used to be in the same boat I was—chasing every shiny new opportunity, struggling to make headway. Everything changed for him when he found a mentor who showed him the ropes.
Through his journey, Dean figured out how to share his successful blueprint with others. One key thing he learned was the “beginner’s advantage.” He started by posting content online and documenting his journey on his blog. In less than a year, he went from a day job to becoming his own boss, making thousands each month.
So, if you’re just starting out, don’t sweat it. Your fresh perspective and eagerness can actually give you an edge. Embrace it, learn as you go, and who knows? You might be quitting your day job sooner than you think!
There’s never been a better time to seize opportunities online!
All you need to do is post content on social media—video content works wonders—and just be yourself. Sounds simple, right? But being authentic can sometimes feel like the hardest part.
Here’s the secret: “Document, don’t create”.
Ready to start? If you answered YES! Then follow the steps below!
1️⃣ Choose What You Love: Follow Your Passion
First things first, pick a topic that gets you excited. Whether it’s the latest tech gadgets, beauty hacks, fitness tips, or even quirky hobbies, let your enthusiasm shine. Authenticity is key here. When you’re genuinely passionate about something, your excitement is contagious, and people can’t help but be drawn in!
If money were no object, what would you spend all your time doing? Is there something you’ve always wanted to try, like learning a new language or playing the guitar? The great news is that you can turn these passions into a business and make money while doing what you love!
Here’s a quick tip: Make a list of your interests and dreams. Then, spend some time exploring social media and search engines to see if there’s a buzz around these topics. Check out how many views, shares, and comments similar content is getting. This will help you gauge if there’s enough interest in your niche.
Remember, you don’t need a massive following to get started—just 100 dedicated superfans can be enough to launch your venture. So, if you find a lot of interest in your niche, don’t hesitate to narrow it down and focus on what you’re passionate about. Your dream job might be closer than you think!
2️⃣ Share Your Journey: Keep It Real
Make simple, short videos related to your niche → just use your phone for up to 60 seconds; it can be more if needed, with no fancy production.
You don’t need to have everything perfectly polished from the start. In fact, sharing your journey—complete with the ups, downs, and learning curves—makes your content relatable and engaging. Just unboxed a cool new gadget? Show it off! Struggling with a new skincare routine? Talk about it! Your audience will love your honesty and be right there with you.
Remember the secret: “Document, don’t create”.
3️⃣ Build Your Community: Connect and Engage
Here’s the plan: Use popular platforms to get noticed for free. Just grab your phone, record some short videos, and share them on these high-traffic sites. TikTok and YouTube are great for this but don’t forget about Facebook, Instagram, and even Quora. People will watch your videos and follow you, helping you build a niche audience. As your audience grows, so does your potential to earn money.
Engagement is everything in the world of social media. Reply to comments, ask for feedback, and create conversations with your followers. It’s not just about building numbers; it’s about nurturing a community that trusts and values your input. Remember, genuine interactions can turn casual followers into loyal fans.
4️⃣ Monetize: Make Genuine Recommendations
As your audience grows, it’s time to start recommending products you actually use and love. This is where affiliate marketing comes into play. By adding affiliate links to your posts, you earn a commission on every sale made through your link. It’s a win-win—you share products you believe in, and your followers get trusted recommendations.
Excited to dive into affiliate marketing and start making money online? Share your niche ideas in the comments, and let’s brainstorm together! And if you know someone who needs a little push to get started, share this post with them.
Let’s ride from rookie to riches together! 🚀
To your success,
Alison Blaire

Awesome post, Alison. This is so relatable to me, and I bet many others. How do you start? What’s it about? Well done breaking it down and highlighting the IPA we are a part of. I always enjoy your posts and I get great insight and ideas from you. Thank you. I’m enjoying watching your success.
I am so glad you enjoyed the post, have you chosen a niche yet?
Hi Alison,
The idea of the “beginner’s advantage” is a refreshing perspective, especially in a field like affiliate marketing, where it’s easy to feel overwhelmed as a newbie. I know I was there and still am in some ways. Your story about starting out and discovering Dean program adds a personal touch that really draws the reader in.
I love how you break down the steps for getting started, choosing a passion, documenting your journey, building a community, and then monetizing. It’s clear, actionable, and encouraging. The emphasis on authenticity and just being yourself is so true, and the advice to “document, don’t create” is a terrific way to take the pressure off and just get started.
Thanks for sharing your insights and experience! Looking forward to seeing more! 😊

Glad you enjoyed it, Meredith! Have you chosen your niche? Would love to hear what you are exploring and what your niche is!
Thanks for your insights. We all need to start somewhere. The other day I had gotten sick but made a video anyway! When our simple tasks add up, we go to the next level. Dean always says, pick your strategy and learn everything about it. That is my current plan going forward!!
Great plan, Kate, and a way to really be dedicated; making a video despite not feeling well is definitely commendable.
Hi, Alison! This is a great outline of the benefits of being a beginner and how to get started! Documenting rather than creating is a great tip! It’s so much easier to say what I’ve done rather than create extra content. I also like the tip of nurturing genuine interactions to turn casual viewers into loyal fans.I always enjoy your posts. Have a great week, Alison!

Hi Alison – This is such a great post not only for a beginner but for those of us who are what I would call mid-level. Not quite a beginner but definitely having arrived at a comfortable level yet were we nimble for doing on a regular basis. I love the phrase “Document, don’t create” As it resonates to everything that I do. What I mean by this is I don’t know what to create just yet so I can document what I’m doing and eventually my documentation leads to content which is a creation in itself. That’s kind of deep, however That’s where I am now and hopefully, I’ll move to the next stage. Thanks for your post as it it’s very valuable and helpful Have a wonderful week,
I am so glad you enjoyed the post, Ernie, it sounds like you are already practicing the beginner advantage. It is so funny how the daily lessons we face in real life are often mirrored by our efforts to create an online business, there are so many parallels it is easy to always find content to post about!
Alison thanks for your insights to the Beginners Advantage. I really think you are right on with what you said “Your fresh perspective and eagerness can actually give you an edge.”. This can be such an incentive for people starting out or even somewhere in the process. Keep up the Good Work and keep those fresh perspectives coming!

Thank you so much, Ken. I’m happy you enjoyed the post.
I too was a lucky one to get a call from Dean himself.
I have also attempted to get my readers to follow a step by step prior to the Beginners Advantage roll-out with commissions.
But I have to hesitate when it comes to making short head-shot videos. I know it is said that practice makes perfect. But I’d rather hide behind my AI voice narrator who can talk much more precisely and quicker than me.
I do figure that the “Make Money Online” (MMO) niche is the one for me. Then I can use my other interests like Health, Wellness and Supplements as a project campaign within the MMO niche.

You know what? You can do faceless if you want, as long as you are consistent and provide value. I don’t think you have to be on camera. What is so great about making money in the online world is that it is not one-size-fits-all. You can choose whatever strategy fits your comfort level; just be consistent with it!
Wow, Allison, I enjoyed your post this week. I read it like I was completely new at this and was drinking it all in. You explained it in such concise and simple-to-understand terms. You are helpful and eager to share what you know to help others. I am very impressed with your writings and how you express yourself—well Done!
Thank you so much Vanessa, your kind words mean so much to me.
I am lucky enough to have gotten a call from Dean himself. In fact he called me at midnight his time. He is a most extraordinary coach. Good play by play on starting a life in affiliate marketing.
