Have you ever wondered why some people seem to strike gold in the online world while others are left scratching their heads, wondering what they’re doing wrong?


The secret to that success isn’t locked away in some high-priced course or hidden behind expensive software… the secret is in their daily habits and mindset.

Let me explain…

Not too long ago, I was spinning my wheels, struggling and going nowhere fast. 

After reading The Iceberg Effect and being confronted with the power of mindset, I decided to try something different. 

I started focusing on my daily habits and mindset. I began to read books on personal development, meditation, and setting clear goals for my affiliate marketing business.

I sat down and wrote my business plan and strategy and broke it down into small, obtainable steps and goals. 

Suddenly, the magic started to happen.

My affiliate marketing business started to take off. I was accomplishing tasks and completing my goals each month! 

You see, success in affiliate marketing – or any venture – isn’t just about the technical know-how. It’s about cultivating the right mindset, developing good habits, and staying consistent.

When I was lucky enough to be accepted into the Internet Profits Accelerator program, Dean Holland and his team further dove into this topic and provided training focusing on how to obtain a growth mindset and how to create daily, weekly, and monthly habits to ensure success.

I wanted to share these steps Dean and the team have helped me cultivate to make sure I stay on track, and I am not distracted by shiny objects, nor does my determination and persistence waiver ( at least not for more than a few seconds).

These are the same steps that countless successful affiliate marketers have used to achieve their financial dreams.

So, let’s delve in…

Daily Ritual

Since the small steps we take every day are the stepping stones to obtaining the ultimate goal – financial freedom, I start with the simple task of making my bed. 

In Charles Duhigg’s book “The Power of Habit,” he talks about how making your bed establishes a direct link to better productivity and overall health. 

Research suggests that doing the one small habit of making your bed not only provides a sense of accomplishment but sets a positive tone for the rest of your day, fostering a productive mindset and making it easier to tackle all activities on your to-do list.  

This philosophy comes from something called habit stacking. 

Habit stacking is a technique that involves linking new habits to existing ones. By piggybacking onto routines we already follow, we leverage the power of association to establish new habits effortlessly. This technique ensures that the habits we develop are seamlessly incorporated into our daily lives, making them more sustainable and less likely to be abandoned.

The next thing I do is write in my gratitude journal. 

There is science behind this, too!

Studies have found several benefits of gratitude journaling, including experiencing a more positive mood, generating happiness, and a more positive outlook on the future. Plus, it provides time for reflection!

You’ll be surprised at the impact of these above activities. They really do wonders to get into the right mindset to tackle the challenges and tasks of the day head-on.

Now, let’s delve into the daily tasks all affiliate markets should be doing to ensure success: 


By tracking data, you gather valuable information that you can analyze to uncover crucial insights, patterns, and trends. Data paves the way for informed decision-making and unparalleled performance gains.

Every morning, I check the performance of my paid traffic ads and follow-up emails and determine if there are any opportunities to improve performance. 

Another important daily task is to check my inbox and respond to any messages. 

Since I have created a business plan, know my goals, and have broken them down into bite-size steps, I know which steps and tasks I need to accomplish for the day to get closer to that goal.

I tackle at least one step each and every day.

 If I have tasks to do that I tend to get lost in, I set up a timer to prevent myself from going down a rabbit hole and not completing my daily tasks. 

Setting a timer is a great strategy because it’s easy to get lost in things like learning, formatting, and editing. 

Have you ever spent 4 hours looking for the perfect image or font for your blog? 

Set a timer for the allotted time (I usually do an hour) to ensure you have time to accomplish at least one thing each day that leads you closer to your money-making goals. 

Developing these daily consistent habits will lead you on the road to success.

In Internet Profits Accelerator, the team also recognizes that some tasks are not daily but weekly or monthly and are just as important of a habit to create. 

Weekly Ritual 

It is important to reflect on each week. 

To do this, I write down all my  wins and failures that I have overcome and put them in my “cookie jar.”

It is important to celebrate these wins, so weekly, do something to celebrate. Make it a priority to recognize your amazing accomplishments and give yourself the credit you deserve!

It is important during your weekly reflection to contemplate the following questions:

What have I done this week? 

What projects or tasks were completed?

What did I get stuck on? 

What questions do I have? 

How can I solve these? 

Do I need to make any changes to my goals or steps to achieve those goals?

Use these reflections to make any adjustments needed to ensure you are on track to meet your goals. These can include changes to your mindset, recognizing limiting beliefs holding you back, changing the narrative, and making adjustments to an ad or email based on the data you reviewed.

This weekly check-in and reflection is also an excellent time to review your goals and plans that are needed for the week ahead. Do they still align with your overall goals? 

I am very fortunate to have access to expert coaches with whom I can email questions and get answers quite promptly. This is my opportunity to send in questions on anything I am not sure of or anything I want to explore.

I also like to reflect on my attitude and mindset over the past week.  What did I learn about myself? What areas do I need to improve? What classes should I focus on? Am I on track with my goals? 

Additionally, Every Thursday and Friday, I set 3 hours aside on each of these days to work on adding at least one email to my follow-up funnels, work on my blog post for the week and a broadcast email to promote this blog post.

Lastly, I have dedicated myself to posting a video on Facebook each week. Because if you read my blog post, The Power of Social Media for Affiliate Marketing: Embrace it and Succeed, you will know how important social media is for success! 

And in this post, I have challenged myself and you, to post a video on social media at least once a week!

I also spend at least a few hours each week working on my networking and organic traffic strategies.

I do this by reading other people’s blog posts and commenting, sharing articles I think are relevant and provide value, and learning about other affiliate marketers’ pain points and figuring out ways to connect with them and provide resources to help them through their struggles. 

Monthly Ritual

Again, I am incredibly fortunate that I have a support system. As part of the Internet Profits Accelerator program, my mentor, Dean Holland, goes live on a monthly PRO coaching call and teaches us valuable lessons from his playbook. During this call, he gives us an opportunity to ask questions.

This is an amazing opportunity, so I make sure to take advantage of this every month.

Besides the monthly PRO coaching day, he also provides a monthly review session where he looks over my tracking sheet and provides a review of my progress.

This has been integral. As I check my numbers and log them daily.

Every month, Dean reviews my data and lets me know if the actionable steps I am taking are going in the right direction and offers expert advice and feedback to help me propel my progress.

Like my weekly reflection, I also do a monthly review where I look at opportunities to optimize and make changes where needed to my strategy. 

Remember, consistency is the key to transforming good habits into life-changing routines. By consistently repeating positive behaviors, we allow them to become ingrained in our daily lives, increasing their efficiency and effectiveness. Consistency minimizes the chances of procrastination and self-sabotage, ensuring that we stay on track to achieve our goals, no matter how challenging.

Creating good habits isn’t always a walk in the park. It requires discipline, resilience, and perseverance, especially when faced with obstacles and setbacks. 

However, by anticipating potential challenges, developing strategies to overcome them, and cultivating a growth mindset, you can navigate through these hurdles and maintain the momentum necessary for lasting success.

When it comes to achieving success as an affiliate marketer, it is often the small daily habits that make the biggest impact. These seemingly insignificant actions, repeated consistently over time, have the power to transform your mindset and result in significant achievements. 

The key lies in understanding that success is not an overnight sensation but a journey that requires dedication and discipline. 

By consciously cultivating positive habits, such as setting clear goals, developing a routine, continuously learning, and tracking progress, you can train your mind to adopt the right mindset for success. 

These habits create a solid foundation for your business, foster discipline, and help you stay focused even during challenging times. 

Embracing small daily habits enables you to overcome obstacles, push your limits, and achieve the big results you desire as an affiliate.

 Remember, success is not just about luck; it is about consistently practicing the right habits that lead to remarkable achievements.

  1. This IS a blog post PACKED with info.

    And if you need more content to write in a gratitude journal, a friend of mine from the Santa Cruz area recently challenged me to try a simple exercise.

    Create a List of 20 or so qualities you wish to embody. Then pare that list down to five that feel central to who you are – and who you aspire to be. Then come up with one action you will take each day to practice each of them.

    Then ask yourself what you will do to hold yourself accountable…an accountability partner?…record it in a daily journal?
